Bye Bye ICQ
One era is gone. I`ve decided to abandon ICQ network once and for all. Since it`s not possible to delete ICQ account, I just removed all information associated with it and I promised myself never to log in to that network again. I started to use ICQ sometimes back in the 2003, shortly after I got my first own computer with internet connection (what an amazing adventurous time it was). Then it was quite a norm for IM communication, at least here in middle-eastern Europe. Sometimes in 2006 I got rid of that increasingly annoying ICQ desktop client, riddled with flash ads and other bloatware, but I managed to log in through external web applications like https://www.meebo.com/ or https://imo.im/ . But now time has come to get rid of the protocol too. Old proprietary concept is being rapidly replaced by versatile open-source alternatives with amazing possibilities. I suppose Google Chat based on XMPP/Jabber protocol and integrated into Gmail is the right choice for everyone seeking quality IM.
P.S.: I will never forget my ICQ UIN, just to mention :-)
